My name is Truman and I am a Husky born in early 2008.
I got my name from the movie "Eight Below", although unlike the movie my guardian never even came back for me.
I was first bought to be a guard dog at a cabin in the snowy mountains of Faraya. After a couple of weeks, I was abandoned and I was given to the concierge and he was supposed to take care of me. He soon decided he simply didn't want me around and I was left to fend for myself.
Struggling to survive, all I wanted is some food and shelter. I did my bet, finding what food I could, and trying to find a nice person who would care for me.
I was coming home one night when I heard one loud BANG after another. I felt the terrible pain in my back and finally realized I was being shot over and over.
It was shocking and painful, how could someone do this to me? All I wanted is some attention and food but instead I was brutally attacked?
I ran as far as I could and hid for days. Hunger and pain finally made me come out and look for some scraps.
I have previously noticed a kind man who always walked with his two dogs, so I decided to roam around his house hoping he would help me - and I was right! He rushed to me as soon a he saw me, shocked to see my wound. He immediately took me in, gave me a nice meal and some medicine so my injuries did not hurt so much.
I was lucky as this man is an Animals Lebanon member as early next morning he called AL and he rushed me to the vet.
At first everyone thought that I was attacked by another dog. I had a wound bigger than the vets hand along my spine. Once the vet had a closer look and took X-rays they found out I had 15 pellets in my back. They knew I had been shot many times by someone and the vet quickly worked to remove all the pellets.
I am now recovering at the vet's clinic and will soon be moving to a volunteer's house until I get adopted.
Even though I suffered greatly, I still have more than enough love and care to give my new guardian.
