Yesterday intense strikes targeted the south and the Bekaa in the east, and other strikes in Beirut and around the country.
558 dead
1,800 wounded
Tens of thousands displaced
These numbers will increase. An incredibly tense situation and bombing continues as we write.
This is the deadliest day since the 1975 to 1990 civil war.
The streets are congested with people leaving the south and east. Some people received calls and messages saying the areas would be bombed.
Many people were unable to bring their pets. There are homeless cats and dogs. Local wildlife. Farms. Zoos.

Israeli air strikes killed 274 people, including 21 children, in south Lebanon on September 23, the Lebanese health minister said, in by far the deadliest cross-border escalation since war erupted in Gaza on October 7.
