Friday June 13th marked a landmark evening for animals as people gathered to support Animals Lebanon's fifth annual Gala for Change! The event was celebrated at Lebanon's majestic and exclusive Residence des Pins, under the patronage of the Ambassador to France, His Excellency Mr. Patrice Paoli. Surrounded by pine trees, a breath-taking historical palace, and under the stars of the night sky, this hidden treasure was the perfect location in its originality and beauty.
The evening was opened with a beautiful and thought-provoking speech by His Excellency Ambassador Paoli, where he quoted Ghandi in saying that "the civility of a nation can be measured by how it treats it animals."
President of Animals Lebanon, Mrs. Lana El-Khalil Bacha, then welcomed the guests, giving an inspiring and moving speech.
In her speech, Mrs. El-khalil Bacha painting a daunting picture of animal abuse as it exists in Lebanon today. She highlighted the work and achievements of Animals Lebanon, and called for supporters to give their financial backing to the cause. You can listen to speech here
Following to Mrs. El-Khalil-Bacha's inspiring speech, the program started with an outstanding performance by 8ieme Art after which a vegetarian buffet was opened featuring a multitude of exquisite and creative dishes thought up by Mie Doree. Lebanon's favorite and talented comedian Nemr Abou Nassar then took the stage and left the crowd breathless with laughter as he lit the night with comedy. The evening ended with a closing performance by 8eArt followed by Lebanon's most coveted DJ Rodge who made a special appearance to end the night with a blast, with people on the dance floor and uplifting music celebrating another Gala well done!
